About TwoHand Cube Timer - Solve Log

Learn more about this application's features and capabilities.

TwoHand Cube Timer is a speedcubing timer built for practice. It tries to give a phone the feel of a dedicated hardware timer: you rest both hands on the pads at either side of the screen, wait for the red light to turn green, lift one hand to start the clock and tap the screen to stop it. Nothing else is needed besides your phone and your cube.

How a solve works Press and hold both pads. After a short ready delay the indicator turns from red to green. Lift one hand and the timer starts; tap anywhere on the screen to stop. You can set the ready delay to instant, 0.3, 0.5 or 1.0 seconds, and you can hide the running time while you solve if watching the numbers distracts you. Sound effects and vibration can be switched on or off, and the strength and feel of the vibration vary by device.

Scrambles for six events The app generates scrambles for 3x3 (using random-state scrambles), 2x2, 4x4, 5x5, Pyraminx and Skewb, so you can practice whichever puzzle you are working on and switch between events without leaving the timer.

Optional 15-second inspection If you practice with official-style rules, turn on the inspection countdown. It beeps at 8 and 12 seconds, adds a +2 penalty if you start after 15 seconds and records a DNF after 17 seconds.

Records and statistics Every solve is saved with its scramble. The statistics screen shows your best time, your mean, and the averages ao5, ao12 and ao100 together with a progress graph so you can see how your times are moving over a session or over weeks. Each solve can be marked +2 or DNF, or deleted, sessions can be split to keep different puzzles or practice goals apart, and all of your times can be copied as CSV to paste into a spreadsheet.

1v1 duel mode Put the phone between two people sitting face to face. Each player rests their hands on their own pads, both wait for green and the first to reach three wins takes the match. It is a simple way to turn a practice session into a friendly race.

Ten screen skins Choose the look that suits you: Carbon Hardware, Brutal Pop, Brutal Stripe, Brutal Mint, Holo Glass, Cyber Esports, HUD Dashboard, Pastel Fluid, Ink Hanji and Retro Handheld.

Languages, privacy and ads The app is available in 12 languages with a language picker inside the app. Your solves and settings stay on your device, and no account or sign-in is needed. Ads appear at the bottom of the Home and Records screens and after you leave a screen, but never during a solve or a duel. A one-time Remove Ads purchase is available.
