About Humanome

Learn more about this application's features and capabilities.

Humanome is a free interactive 3D atlas of the human body that runs in any modern browser, on a laptop, a Chromebook or a phone, with nothing to install and no account needed to start. It is built for anatomy and physiology students, biology teachers, homeschool families, nursing and pre-med students, and anyone who has ever wanted to see what is actually inside the body.

The atlas opens on a full 3D body. You can turn the skin, muscles, skeleton, blood vessels, nerves and organs on and off one layer at a time, rotate and zoom anywhere, slice the body open with cross-sections, and pull structures apart in an exploded view. Click any of more than 2,500 structures and a panel tells you what it is, what it does, which system it belongs to and what lies next to it. Groups such as the heart, the lungs, the spine or the skull can be shown on their own.

Studying is built in. Anatomy quizzes ask you to find structures on the 3D body itself rather than on a flat picture, at three levels, with quiz sets for bones, muscles, the heart, the brain, cranial nerves, the brachial plexus and full lab practical reviews for each unit. Teachers can share a quiz with a class through a link or Google Classroom, and a class pass shows how each student did.

For printed study there are free label-the-diagram worksheets with answer keys and matching coloring pages, drawn from the same 3D model: the skeleton, the skull, the spine, the hand and foot, the muscles front and back, the heart, arteries and veins, the brain, the nervous system, the lungs, the urinary system and the teeth.

Beyond anatomy, Humanome links the body to medicine. A cited reference connects more than 11,000 conditions and 3,000 medications to the body parts they affect, so a student can see where a disease acts or where a drug works. An AI tutor answers anatomy and physiology questions in plain language and points back to the structures on the model.

The atlas, the worksheets and the basic quizzes are free. Humanome Pro, at $4.99 a month, unlocks every quiz set and level and unlimited tutor questions. Humanome is made in the United States.
